

Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Carmen M and Arley V Cedar. Graduated from Sharon High School in 1945, where the last two years he was also an apprentice draftsman for Westinghouse. Gene entered the Air Force following high school graduation, and served in both World War II and the Korean War. He also served with the Colorado Air National Guard for 12 years. He met Ladonna DeGarmo, and married her on June 9th, 1946 while he was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. He and his wife, Donna, had two children: Larry and Valerie. Gene belonged to his beloved church, Denver First Church of the Nazarene. He also belonged to the American Legion and the Civil Air Patrol. He was a Training Officer for Colorado Search and Rescue. Among the many professions Gene enjoyed in his lifetime, he was a volunteer fireman for Bancroft Fire Department; a wedding photographer; and an architect who designed many homes, churches, and businesses in the Denver metro area A few of the companies he worked for were Public Service Company of Colorado and Dow Chemical at Rocky Flats. He spent many years in Electrical Engineering and; in later years, in Sales Management. Survived by Wife: Ladonna Cedar, Children: Larry Cedar and Valerie (Ron) Chisholm, both of Denver. Three Grandchildren: Paul (Alyssa) Cicero, Eugene (Tiffany) Over, and Danny (Shauna) Cedar - all of Denver. Six Great Grandchildren: Samara, Annabella, and Elijah Cedar; Alesandra and Charlie Cicero; and Ethan Over Pre-Deceased by Brother Dale Cedar. Gene also leaves behind two sister-in-laws (Iona Nauman and Idella Kercher, many nieces & nephews and a multitude of friends!
