Hal Bruce Johnson, born in Geneva, Nebraska on June 1, 1942, joined the angels in heaven on Sunday, September 13, 2020. He is survived by a loving wife, Judy (of 49 years) and three daughters and their families: Kristin Osborne (Michael, Connor, Austin), Karin Keane (Sean, Calan, and Liam), and Katie Svigel (Brian, Evelyn, and Clara). He also is survived by his brother, Kim Johnson (Susan), of Poughkeepsie, New York, and his sister, Mary Beth DeLay (Mike), of Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was a gentle, kind, friendly, open, and honest man. His family adored him and has many special memories of him. He loved biking, running, skiing, jigsaw puzzles, hiking, playing bridge and other games, and especially bargain hunting. He also loved rooting for his Cornhuskers, Rockies, and Broncos. Travelling and dining out were also favorites. Hal was very down to earth and never met a stranger. But the most important part of his life was family. He worked as a systems analyst/programmer for Public Service and Great West Life. He will be interred on Monday, September 21st, in a private family ceremony at Olinger Hampden Mortuary. A memorial for friends and relatives will be held at a later date (TBD).
