Jane & John Searcy

Therese June (Jane) Searcy, nee Odom, of Aurora, CO, died of cancer on January 4, 2014 at the age of 86. Her parents were Marvin and Lucille Odom. A Denver native, Jane graduated from East High School and married John Martin Searcy in October 1948. She also lived in Eldorado Springs and Arvada. Jane enjoyed sewing, knitting (especially hats for newborns and cancer patients), traveling, bridge and pinochle. She and John were serious jazz fans. Jane was cheered by a long list of well-loved cats over her life.

She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Toby) Mitchell (husband Wes) and her children Lynda Lee (Searcy) Parker (husband Jeffry), Janet Anne (Jan) Searcy and Patrick Martin Searcy (wife Linda). Her grandchildren are Shae Therese (Warriner) Gawlak and Chad Edward Warriner (wife Sarah); and great-grandchildren Michael Keiv and Lucas Vincent Gawlak and Lorelai Shae and Adrianna Mae Warriner. Jane’s sister, Diane (Odom) Shirley predeceased her.

Searcy, John Martin

John Martin Searcy of Aurora, CO died at age 85 of Alzheimer's on February 9, 2014. His parents were Harry and Nancy (Nix) Searcy. A Denver native, John excelled on the South High School diving team. He married Therese June (Jane) Odom in October 1948. He lived in Eldorado Springs in childhood and eventually moved to Arvada. His profession was sales and marketing. John and Jane were serious jazz fans and traveled the world to follow their favorite bands. They were Broncos season ticket holders since 1960, and John will be remembered as the life of the party. He is survived by his children Lynda Lee (Searcy) Parker married to (Jeffry), Janet Anne (Jan) Searcy and Patrick Martin Searcy (married to Linda); grandchildren Shae Therese (Warriner) Gawlak and Chad Edward Warriner (married to Sarah); great grandchildren Michael Keiv and Lucas Vincent Gawlak, Lorelai Shae and Adrianna Mae Warriner. John's wife, Jane, predeceased him in January 2014. A memorial service for both Jane and John is planned for April 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Club Room at 1650 Fillmore Street, Denver.
