Janet Mary Mansour

Obituario de Janet Mary Mansour
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Olinger Hampden Mortuary, Cremation & Cemetery

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Mary Mansour who died peacefully in her home on November 17, 2025 at the age of 73. She was a cherished Mother, Sister, Aunt, co-worker and friend. Janet leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness, intellectual curiosity, humor and an unwavering commitment to family.

Born January 10, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to William and Margaret “Maggie” Scharf, Janet grew up the youngest of 4 sisters and went on to study Elementary Education at Clarion University.

Janet dedicated her early career to teaching elementary aged students in Western Pennsylvania, later relocating to Southern California for work as a legal secretary. She continued in this field, working in law firms in Portland, Oregon and Denver, Colorado. She later transitioned to a position in the DECA program at Cherry Creek High School, where she held many administrative roles within the business education department and the Summer Sports and Driver’s Ed programs. A dedicated and valued employee of more than 30 years, Janet was highly respected by both teachers and students, and she left a legacy of kindness, commitment and support to all she encountered. Colleagues remember her as an organized, brilliant problem-solver who motivated and inspired with wisdom and humor.

Beyond professional accomplishments, Janet was a voracious reader who also enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her home. Her greatest joy, however, came from time spent with family, especially during annual camping trips in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Janet was a meticulous planner who found great satisfaction in finding new and exciting activities and adventures for her family. Janet was a free spirit who possessed an infectious laugh, keen sense of humor and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease with her generous and charitable nature.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents William and Maggie, and sister Bridget.

She was an extremely devoted and loving Mother to her daughter, Amelia, and was a doting “Grandma” to her two furry grandchildren, Cosmo and Darla. She is survived by her sisters Judy and Irma, and her nieces and nephews Kimberly, Keith, Eric, Megan, Rebecca, Jessica and Phil as well as Amelia’s dad Mike Mansour and son-in-law Dominick. The family will forever hold dear the memories of Janet’s strong-willed and resilient nature, but most of all her love and commitment to her daughter, Amelia.

Per Janet’s wishes, there are no immediate arrangements for a service.
