
Joyce Marie Huntington was born on December 17, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Daniel and Daisy (Burrows) Crawford. She graduated from Paseo High School in 1961 and attended a year at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.
Following High School she worked for American Mutual Liability Insurance Company for a couple years. She then took a job with Phillips Petroleum & AMOCO Oil Company before starting her career in the federal government with the IRS in April of 1971. She also worked for the Corps of Engineers & Army Recruiting in Kansas City, before transferring to Denver, Colorado and working for HUD. She retired from Federal Service on August 25, 1997 after 26 1/2 years.
A new chapter began for her at the age of 40 when “her Bob”, as she typically referred to him, came into her life. They were married on February 14, 1985 in Loveland, Colorado, the Sweetheart Capital of The World. When Joyce said “I do” she considered Bob's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as her own.
Joyce and Bob had a beautiful home in the mountains of Colorado about 100 miles south of Denver. They were also heavily involved with Faith Freedom Fellowship in Fairplay, where they developed many dear friendships. After her retirement, Joyce worked part time for several companies including Jefferson Real Estate in Jefferson, Colorado. She enjoyed fishing and camping with Bob, plus spending time with the family. She felt God had blessed her beyond measure.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Huntington; her stepson and his wife, Robert Huntington and Cathy and her step daughter, Deborah Ballast, grandson Thomas Swanson, great granddaughter Kayla Aragon. She is survived by her step children, Pamela Olson, Dora Swanson (Tom), Timothy Huntington, Curtis Huntington (LeighAnn), and sister Barbara Skopec (Joe) as well as, niece, Mimi Lynn Skopec, nephew Craig Skopec (Jenny) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce touched the lives of many with her open heart earning the nickname “Mom, Mama Joyce, and Mama Bear” with many dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231, US, on March 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Funeral Service will be held at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231, US, on March 21, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. with a reception to follow.
