Karim is survived by her spouse, Michael Angelo Licalzi; her daughter Melissa Darnell Taylor, age 41; her son Sean Michael Licalzi, age 31; her son Osiris James Licalzi, age 9; and her son Luke Phillip Licalzi, age 9; her grandson Evan Mitchell Taylor, 20, her granddaughter Harlo Grace Licalzi, 7, her granddaughter Preslie Marie Licalzi, 6, her granddaughter Claire Alice Checots, age 2, her grandson Coleson Cash Licalzi, 1 and her granddaughter Kyla Noelle Licalzi, 7 months.
Karim was preceded in death by her father Phillip John Mitchell and her mother Grace Doreen Mitchell (Hayes).
She worked as a Paralegal, CNA, and Flight Attendant. Country music, classic rock, and old-school R&B were her favorite music to listen to.

A memorial service for Karim will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231, followed by a committal service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday October 3, 2021 from 12pm-4pm at Great Plains Park in Aurora, Colorado. All children are welcome and encouraged to attend.
