Kathie attended Wichita East High School, Monticello Preparatory School, Colorado Women’s College, and Tobe Coburn School for Fashion Careers in New York City. After she graduated from Tobe Coburn, Kathie was awarded a position with the May Company Department Store in Denver in the fashion merchandizing department. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September of 2021.
As an eventual career choice as a stay-at-home mom, Kathie was an active volunteer at every one of her daughter’s schools and was proud to be a part of the PTO even after she graduated from high school. Kathie was also a member of the Junior League of Denver (the start of her volunteering career). She enjoyed music, reading, and needlework but was most enthusiastic about spending time at home and traveling with her husband and daughter, as well as helping to host events at home with dear friends.
There will be a visitation for Kathie on Friday, March 18 from 2-4pm at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E Hampden Avenue, Denver, CO 80231.
A formal service in Wichita and a celebration of life in Denver, will be held for Kathie on dates to be determined later.
