Lillian was born in Brooklyn New York the daughter of Thomas and Pasqualina “Bessie” Cappadona on April 16, 1933. She had three brothers Patrick Cappadona (Carole), Thomas Cappadona (Doris) and Joseph Cappadona (Grace). Lillian is preceded in death by her Father, Mother and brother Patrick.
Lillian was married to Louis J. Macca, together they moved from New York to California and finally called Denver Colorado their home. Together they had children Leslie Salas, Lori Porter, Peter Macca (Rhonda) and Lydia Mares (Damon). Later, being a single parent of four children never stopped Lillian from accomplishing great things in life. She acquired a degree in Interior Design, traveled around the world, and became a successful business woman. She unconditionally offered her time, love and spirit to groups and organizations, and built a strong independent creative and “can do” lifestyle that made her such an influence on both family and friends.
Lillian has been blessed with 7 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren (soon to be 7). She has endless friends from all walks of life. She enjoyed music, traveling, falling asleep in front of the TV, her home and her garden. I truly believe most of all, she enjoyed her neighborhood and the block of friends of over 30 years that warmed her house and heart.
“I am sadden to say good bye to my Grandma Lil, the woman that waltzed in her kitchen, taught us all how to waltz in her kitchen. She was the type of grandmother that had “Drive In” movies in the garage (in her car with popcorn), and a coffee can full of pennies for impromptu Rummy games on the back porch. She had so many close friends that she got into trouble with, and had amazing adventures with. Her back yard was a secret garden that held the best Easter egg hunts and family/neighborhood Bar-B-Qs. Her after school tea parties will be missed as much as her Indiana Jones Movie Marathons in the basement while we rubbed her feet and painted her nails. She left us with the knowledge of world travel, the love of yarn, crocheting, PBS telethons of the 3 tenors, freedom to be yourself and how to become strong smart individuals. I can only hope that when I get older and have grandchildren of my own that will be as cool, creative, strong, crazy and memorable as Lillian.”
