Myron Paul Waddell, who was born in Denver, Colorado, on May 29, 1938, the son of Margaret B. Waddell and Dr. Myron C. Waddell passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2017. His parents and older sister Dr. Dorothy Jo Waddell preceded him in death, and he is survived by his younger brother Mark C. Waddell and his partner Scott Vickers, nephew Erik Thogersen, his wife Jessica and daughter Zoe, niece Lise Thogersen, and many cousins.
At the early age of 10 Paul started having seizures, which were diagnosed as being caused by a brain tumor that was deemed inoperable. As time progressed, Paul suffered the loss of mental and physical capabilities due to the seizures and brain tumor growth and it was projected he would not live past 16 years of age. When he was 11, Paul attended Laradon Hall in Denver and at the age of 15 left due to health issues to move to the Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo where he lived until 1975.
In 1975 at the age of 37 Paul moved to Denver where he resided under the excellent support and care of Developmental Pathways, and was employed at Avatrac and Furr’s Cafeteria until the aging process forced him to retire. After that he enjoyed many years of the Seniors Choice Program and other activities at Development Pathways / Continuum until his death.
A celebration of Paul’s life and the smiles he shared with those around him will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Chapel, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado on August 24th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Developmental Pathways, who provided housing, loving personal care, and quality activities for Paul for over 40 years at http://bit.ly/SUNdonate where you will see Paul’s smiling face.
