

Nancy was born February 17, 1956 in Berlin, Germany. Her parents were Richard Lee McElheny of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Evelyn May (Gagos) McElheny of Boulder, Colorado. She was the third of four children born to Richard and Evelyn McElheny. She had one daughter, Efegholo Evelyn Egbeighu.
Nancy graduated from Boulder High School, where she lettered in track and played flute in the marching band. A highlight of that time in her life was traveling with the band to perform at the Orange Bowl. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Metropolitan State College in 1981. For a number of years she participated in a writers' group, writing poetry about her faith, her family, and her life.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Patrick Lange, and by bher older brother, Ross McElheny. She is survived by her older sister, Amy Durfee West, her younger brother, Lloyd McElheny, her daughter, Efe, and her nieces and nephews, Brian McElheny, Katherene McElheny, Casey Durfee, Benjamin Durfee, Lily Reisser, Jesse Durfee, and Justin McElheny.
Nancy was lovingly shepherded and cared for by her church community, Aurora Mental Health Center, her National Multiple Sclerosis Society support group, her spiritual director, Kay Davis, and many other devoted friends, companions and carers. Likewise, she was a faithful presence in the lives of many. She ended every phone conversation with, "Have a blessed day."
There will be a rosary at 9:30 am and a funeral service at 10 am on Saturday, April 9 at St. Therese Catholic Parish, 1243 Kingston Street, Aurora CO 80010. Burial will take place immediately after the funeral service at Olinger Hampden Cemetery, 8000 E. Hampden Avenue, Denver CO 80231.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory be made to the National MS Society or Catholic Charities.
