Ngoan Le, 80, husband of Kim Le of 40 years, passed away on January 25, 2016 in Aurora, Colorado surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1935 to the late Chau and Dao Thi Le in Hue, Vietnam. He was the second youngest of 10 children.
Ngoan was an adventurer and made his own path. He loved speed, namely in the form of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes. Ngoan flew for Air Vietnam before joining the Vietnamese Air Force. His training took him to all corners of the globe. During the Vietnam War, Ngoan loyally and passionately fought for his country. Amidst the war, Ngoan was smitten by, and fell in love with Kim, before they married in 1975.
After the fall of Saigon in 1975, Ngoan and his family left Vietnam in search of a better life. Their search took them to Sweden, France, then ultimately to Colorado. Ngoan worked diligently as a machinist for over 20 years prior to retiring.
Ngoan loved soccer, volleyball, skiing, and ping-pong. Ngoan would always devote time to watch WWE wrestling and cheer for his beloved Denver Broncos.
Ngoan was a proud man and his greatest achievement was his family. He was a loving husband and the perfect father to his two children. He always put his family ahead of himself, no matter the cost or personal sacrifice. The love and success of his wife and children embodies his legacy. Ngoan’s last days were happy: he was surrounded by his family, watched the Denver Broncos win their way to the Super Bowl, and spent time with his grandson whom he was determined to see born.
Ngoan will be dearly missed by his wife, Kim; his daughter Bea and her spouse Cindy of Superior, CO; his son Peter and his wife Alyssa, and his beloved grandson, Peter Jr of Parker, CO; his extended family, and many friends around the world.
A remembrance and celebration of Ngoan’s life will be held on Sunday, January 31 at 1pm at Olinger Hampden Mortuary at 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, Colorado 80231.
