Raymond (Ray) Eugene Heap was born was born October 8, 1921 in Denver Colorado and died January 4, 2014 at his home in Aurora Colorado, with his immediate family at his side. Ray is survived by his wife Holly, children Becky and Dennis, grand children Shayne, Daniel, Joel and Lauren and great grandchildren Kasey, Madison, Tyler, Natalie, Paige, Gennisee and Rylynn.
Ray and Holly celebrated their 73rd Anniversary October 6, 2013. He was a man anchored by his love and faith in God, Family and Country. He had a strong abiding Christian faith, loved and cherished his family and served his country during WWII in the 29th Infantry Division 175th Infantry Regiment. Ray was very knowledgeable in the construction industry as a general contractor before joining the HUD (Federal Housing Authority) where he advanced to Chief Architect. After retiring from HUD he continued to work as an appraiser. Ray helped Dennis and Bonnie build their first house in Steamboat Springs in 1972. He hauled building materials on his model T trailer from Denver to Steamboat, using his weekends, holidays and vacation until the house was completed. At the age of 75 he built a house on Kenton Street in Aurora so he could teach his grandsons, first-hand, how a house was constructed. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be deeply missed and leave a hole in our hearts; however, he was ready to go, and his family was ready to let him go! We know where he is and that we will soon join him with Our Lord Jesus Christ!
