

Richard married the love of his life Betty Lou Browning on December 12, 1952 and proceeded to have 6 children.
Richard began his military service at the age of 16 and served his country in the United States Air Force faithfully for 20 years and 10 years in the reserves. He was associated with the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Richard retired from the military in May 1968 as a TSgt with the United States Air Force.
Once retired he moved his family to Denver, CO and resided here until his death. Richard opened his own business with a gas station on Bayaud Street and then on Federal and Speer. When the gas crisis came he sold the business and went to work for Samsonite as a stationary engineer for another 20 years when he retired for good.
Richard was a loving and generous husband, father and friend. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson, gardening, play pool with the kids and friends. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dad and Mom enjoyed their retirement as they traveled throughout the western United States in their camping trailer.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Barnes after 73 years of marriage, his parents Carl and Ethel Barnes, sisters Jean Barnes, Thelma Barnes, brother Gordon Barnes, son Michael James Browning and Great Grandson Brandon Mason.
He is survived by his children, Linda (Dave Wallace) Barnes, Susan (Lewis) Babcock, Debbie (Craig) Steiner, Ronald Barnes, Richard (Lois) Barnes, Carla Barnes;
His grandchildren, Dawn Riggs, Kendra (Steve) Lesner, Kristin (Matt) Jones, Brittany (Patrick) McMahon, Lisa Mellon, Matthew Steiner, Michelle (Drew U’Ren) Lemire, Colin (Nina Taban) Turner, Shayla Barnes, Tyler (Hope) Montgomery, Cindy (Doug) Browning-Gillum, April Browning, Amy Browning;
His great-grandchildren, Justin (Jocelyn) Riggs, Ryan (Kayla) Riggs, Dylan (Halle) Riggs, Declan Lesner, Colter Lesner, Reese Jones, Regan Jones, Brooklyn McMahon, Camden McMahon, Shaidyn McMahon, Jason Hill, Azariia Clark, Zamiah Roquemore, Abigail Gessner, Kyle Browning-Gillum, Matthew Mason, Taylor Mason, Aspen Bray, Dyani Bouch;
His great, great-grandchildren, Jameson Riggs, Oakley Riggs;
And many nieces and nephews.
Richard was loved by his family and friends, He will be missed by all.
