Rick proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was known for his quick wit, generous heart, and endless supply of dad jokes, Rick brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He had a deep love for history, genealogy, road trips, foxes, and most of all—God and his family.
Rick married Rose in 1968, and together they shared 57 years of life, love, and service. He was a devoted father, a playful and proud PawPaw to his grandchildren, a caring brother and uncle, and a faithful member of his church community where he taught Sunday School and led men’s ministry.
Rick is survived by his wife, their children - Jennifer and James, their grandchildren - Jessica, Lindsey, Faith, and Kat, his brother and sister - Ed and Estella “Sissy”, and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his love of learning, his generous spirit, his unwavering faith, and his ability to make anyone feel seen and valued. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and laughter.
A memorial service will be held for Rick on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. at The Avenue church in Aurora, Colorado - 13231 E Mississippi Ave, Aurora, CO 80012. A reception will be held at the church following the service until Noon.
