

a longtime member of Mt Olive Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO, and lived out his faith serving others.
Born on January 22, 1929, in Milwaukee, WI, Roy worked as a Parts Distribution Manager at
American Motors for 41 years. After retiring, he pursued many hobbies and interests. He
loved people and had a passion for helping others which led to him spending the remainder of his
life doing volunteer work. Roy loved his country and had a special love for our military heroes. He
was a volunteer at the Denver VA hospital where he worked in various clinics and earned his CNA
hospice certifications. He made lifelong friends and touched many lives. Roy was
recognized on Denver channel 7 for their Senior Spotlight during Operation Desert Storm and
was awarded the Denver channel volunteer "9 Who Care" award in 2014, highlighting his over
20,000 hours of volunteering at the Denver VA. Roy deeply loved and cherished his family and
friends. His wife, Lenore, of 63 years, survives him, his son, Michael, daughters Ann,
Ellen (Anthony), grandchildren Greg (Katie), Joshua, Tyler (Margaretta), and Amanda.
Great-grandchildren Henry, Roger, Phoebe, and Lydia. Roy's brothers meant the world to him. He
was preceded in death by his brother Norman (Joan) and survived by brothers Allen (Mary Ann),
Milton (Nancy) and Ben( Betsy). He is also survived by many cherished relatives and friends.
Roy loved children and believed they are our future. Instead of flowers, the family requests
supporting St Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
Roy's life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive
Lutheran Church, 11453 E. Wesley Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. The service will also be on the live- streamed at the church’s website at mtolc.org and available on Facebook for some time after. There will be a lunch following the service at the church.
The family would like to acknowledge the Denver Hospice staff for the wonderful care and support they gave to Roy. He was treated with dignity and respect and was well cared for by the team assigned to him. Our family is grateful.
