Ruth Lucile Duerksen was born on August 15, 1924 in Bunker Hill Township, Michigan, to Alford and Anna MacFarland. Ruth grew up on a farm. She chose to be a nurse and it was while she was studying to be one that she met and married Edward Duerksen when he was a doctor stationed at Fitzsimons. They had 4 children.
Ruth will be remembered for her hard working, generous nature. And also for her love of animals and her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and son, Donald. She is survived by 3 children, Gary, Lori and Edward; grandchildren, Ashley, Rebecca and Nyla.
Ruth will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 24th at 10:30am at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
