He made friends in line at the store, while crossing paths with neighbors, and maintained friendships with coworkers over many years. He did not care how much you earned, what titles you had, your age, or where you came from.
He would embrace anyone, enchanting them with his stories and adventures, laughing along with everyone and making them laugh with his colorful personality and quick wit. Many met him at his local dog park, where he left water and treats for the dogs, shared stories and connection with others, and watched his much-loved Towa romp and play.
“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.” To meet him is to have footprints in your heart. He could talk to anyone, about anything, and you will walk away a better person for having known him. He might be talking about the antics of his dog, hopes and dreams for his children, philosophy, or the latest books he read.
Seth was an artist, truck driver, and vivacious reader, among many things. He has created murals, paintings, and drawings that exhibit amazing talent, and represent his love of animals, people, and experiences. When one looks at his creations, they can see the man behind the art.
Seth was a proud and dedicated father to the greatest loves of his life, Jeremiah and Victoria, sharing wisdom and insights with his children without judgement or expectation. He was a beloved and cherished son to Harriet and Bill Balhiser, whom he checked in with almost daily and delighted in sharing stories and experiences with. As a treasured brother to Raeann Strike and Ron Betterton, Sarah and Patrick Holt, and Heidi and Tim Clune, he always worked to bring the family together for themed pictures, engaged in long one-on-one chats, and shared his dynamic, loving personality. Family was his foundation, making sure to reach out to everyone individually, and reminding everyone that he loved them and thought of them often.
“All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” -Hellen Keller
