He married Alyce Lunders in 1959 after a brief marriage to first wife Loretta. Alyce had a daughter Tara Laureen, age 3 at that time, whom he adopted. Jacque and Alyce had 4 more children, Christopher Michael, Kelly Marie, Luke and Jennifer Christian. He was active with his boys in Boy Scouts, taking them on a whole variety of adventures.
Jacque served his country alongside his older brother Robert in the Marines during the Korean War. He later became a mechanical engineer, working first for Paul Koch; then after Paul retired, he accepted a position with Cator Ruma and Associates where he stayed until retiring at age 55. He was instrumental in many significant projects including power stations for what was then Mountain Bell.
For many years Jacque enjoyed traveling both in and out of the country, most often with Ports of Call out of Stapleton Airport. These excursions led him to get certified as a scuba diver, which he enjoyed. He also liked to golf, and all of his children remember Thursday night bowling growing up. For several years, Jacque served as a HOA Board of Director for the complex he lived in.
Jacque was a man of few words, but he knew what he believed in and had no reservations about standing up for what he thought was right, even if he was in the minority or if it would have been the easier choice. He instilled in all of his children a strong, healthy work ethic, and an appreciation of integrity.
Despite not feeling well, the day he died, he started that day as he had planned. He is loved, and missed mostly by those who knew him best.
