Alice M. Manning

Alice M. Manning of Des Plaines for 45 years. Visitation for Alice M. Manning (nee Grace), 89, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. A prayer service will be at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Zachary Church, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Born March 1, 1921, in Chicago, she died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at the Sunrise of Schaumburg. Alice retired after 20 years at UOP in Des Plaines. She loved to shop for clothing. She was the wife for 52 years of the late Neil J. Manning Sr.; mother of Alice Kamins, Therese (Denis) Ferguson, Ginny (Greg) Weitzel and the late Neil J. Manning Jr.; sister of Gerald Grace; grandmother of John (Jen) Kamins, Michelle (Tom) Stien, Maggie (Brian) Gehler, Tom (Shannon) and Norm (Becca) Weitzel, Mark (Lisa) Kamins, Kate (Steve) Surbaugh, Bridget (Mike) Nolan, and Neil (Jacqui) and Jennifer Weitzel; and great-grandmother of 18. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Zachary Church.
