Services for Anna Ruth Haapala, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. The Rev. George Schelter will officiate. Interment will be in Ridgewood Memorial Park, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Born Nov. 21, 1914, in Chicago, she died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, in Des Plaines. Anna was a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Ingo Haapala; mother of Gloria (John) Vesely and Karen (David) Kallstrand; grandmother of five; great-grandmother of nine; great-great-grandmother of two.
