

Anna May Arthur at 93 years old, of Des Plaines, passed away on November 2. Anna May was a remarkable woman who accomplished anything she set her mind to. Anna May is survived by her two sisters Diana "Bunny" Basalyga, Mary Lou Sovich and brother Dick Sovich; her four daughters Cheryl Koontz, Dawn Mathis (son in law Jim Mathis), Kathleen McCafferty (son in law Ron McCafferty), and Tracey Goytia (son in law Michael Goytia); her grandchildren T.J. Koontz (wife Kristy Koontz), Christoper Koontz, Heather Clement (husband Ryan Clement), Evan Goytia, and Tyler Ann Goytia; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Ethan, Tyler, Madelyn, Nora and Olivia. Preceded in death by her husband Thomas Arthur, mother Ann Sovich, brother Michael Sovich, brother Chuck Sovich, and her faithful dog Dudley.
Anna May enjoyed camping, playing cards, watching tennis, and being with family. She is also known for her strong work ethic as a military secretary, and later in life as a legal secretary for Baxter patent department.
A visitation for Anna will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
