Antoinette "Nettie" Culleeney

Antoinette Josephine Culleeney, also known as Nettie, passed away on January 23, 2024, in Schaumburg, Illinois, at the age of 93. Born on June 30, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Josephine and Anthony Chiariello.

Nettie was a remarkable woman who loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. Her infectious laugh and zest for life brought joy to all those around her. She had a passion for creating delicious meals and cherished the moments spent with her loved ones.

Nettie is survived by her children: Carol (Thomas) Mueller, Edward Culleeney (Leleine Sernias), Thomas Culleeney (Kathleen Corbo), Peggy (Jack) Estry, and Judy Culleeney. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Meghan (José) Galvan, Donald James (DJ) Culleeney, Jenna Culleeney, Bradley Culleeney, Emily (Brandon) Parrish, as well as her great-grandchildren: Gianna Galvan, Eduardo Galvan, Mia Galvan, Brooks Parrish, and Brady Parrish. Nettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald James Culleeney, who passed away on May 1, 1993.

Visitation will be held Monday, January, 29, 2024 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines (corner of Northwest Hwy and Rand Rd) from 4pm-8 pm. A ceremony to honor Nettie's life will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Internment will immediately follow at All Saints Cemetery, in Des Plaines, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Alzheimer's research or support organizations. Nettie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
