Barbara Bachmeier

Barbara was born in Regensburg Germany on February 28,1929 to Barbara (Scheuerer) and Josef Michl. She came to this country with her husband Jacob in September of 1955. Her faith and family were very important to her. She was known for her delicious cooking and fabulous pastries and baking. She is survived by her children Gertrude (John) Messmer, Agnes (Richard) Stefanski, and Luise (Barry) Benduha; her grandchildren Sondra, Crystal, Ryan, Jacob, Michael, Samantha, and Daniela; and her great grandchildren Andra, Johnny, Amelia, Jaxon and Emma. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob & her Michl family.

We were blessed to have her in our lives. Mothers hold their children’s hand for awhile but their hearts forever.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home (2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines). A morning rosary vigil service will be held at 9:00 AM at Oehler Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, immediately followed by a procession to the 10am funeral mass at Saint Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church (1280 Prospect Ave, Des Plaines). Services will conclude with committal blessings at All Saints Cemetery (700 N. River Road, Des Plaines).
