She was a devoted and cherished mother and grandmother who found joy in the beauty of both nature and art. She was very active and loved to take walks - whether it be hiking through mountains, hiking trails, or around the lake at the Glen. She was a very talented artist, which showed through her beautiful Chinese paintings and calligraphy. She taught her daughter and grandchildren how to paint, instilling in them an appreciation for artistic expression. Cheryung cared for her grandchildren, playing games, taking them for walks, reading books, and teaching them how to cook. She was a strong Christian, spending time praying and reading the bible every day.
Cheryung's kindness, warmth, and humor touched everyone she met. She gave generously of her time, and selflessly helped others. She had a vibrant personality that lit up the room with laughter wherever she went.
She is survived by her husband Gene Lee, daughter Irene Oh, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Christian Oh, and her two older sisters Chehui Warren and Cheyong Chung. Cheryung will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is now in heaven with the Lord, at peace watching over her loved ones. Her footsteps may no longer tread the earth, but the paths she walked and the colors she painted will remain with us forever.
A celebration of life service for Cheryung will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.OehlerFuneralHome.com for the LEE family.
