Chester R. Peterson, U.S. Navy Veteran, resident of Niles, was born on December 3, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernhard and Frida (nee Hörlin) Peterson, and passed away peacefully on September 1, 2016. Chester was a very proud and active member of Medinah Temple. He was the loving husband of the late Phyllis (nee Conforti) Peterson; cherished father of Christine (John) Marciniak, Paul Peterson, Elin (Stanley) Ryczewicz, Jennifer (Bruce) Pankiewicz; grandfather of Amanda, Sarah, Adam, Ben, Matthew, Stephanie, Justin, Alec; great-grandfather of Kameya, Charlotte, Millie; proud uncle and friend to many. Memorial Service will be held at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Hwy./Rt. 14 at Rand Rd.), Des Plaines, IL 60016, on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12:00pm. Friends and family will gather between 11:00am and 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
