Helen S. Chapekis, 81, was the Cherished and loving wife of Fred Chapekis; beloved mother of Anthony Fredrick (Kristina) and Michael (Denise) Chapekis; adoring grandmother of Michelle, Maria, Gabriel and Alianna; precious sister of Marina (Nicholas) Chapekis and Androniki De Met; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews; and godmother of many. Visitation will be on Friday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, at 9:45 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2350 Dempster St., Des Plaines, IL 60016, for a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Saint John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, Wis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Iconography Fund or Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
