Of the countless things I’ll miss about Yan (and I’m sure my cousins and brother can attest) is her big, almost inaudible laugh. You didn’t always get this laugh out of her. But, if you made her laugh just hard enough, her mouth would open wide, and her eyes would squint a bit (sometimes with tears swelling), no sound would come out, but you could feel a burst of a deep, hearty laugh erupting in front of you. When you got a laugh like that out of her, you know you’d done well. You succeeded, and the amount of love that filled that room in that moment, most likely around the kitchen table, is something I will spend the rest of my days remembering and reminding myself of. Thank you endlessly, Yan, for showing us that joy and love are always there, always capable of being shared. Words cannot express how much we’ll miss laughing with you.

Chapter 2:  An unprecedented bond with her sisters -Aunt Joann and Aunt Janet. A gift of love and memories that transcends generations. Her friends, especially the Augusta girls – her face lite up when she spoke of you, I don’t know the life-long secrets, but the youthfulness was never dimmed. Nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws – she was so happy to give of her time and she was never without something to say and share, Always with advice and wisdom and the sincerity of let me show you the way. Grandchildren - You occupy her full heart and you all know it
She gave you her force, attitude and the brightest light – and each of you shine it brighter and in your own way It’s your light she’s going to miss the most.  Melanie, Deanna, Micki, Marci, David – she gave us her heart and we took it. It goes without saying that it was hard for us to share and we may still be fighting. How blessed we were to have this lady, our mom, mommy give us every part of herself to make us better.  Show us the way although we didn’t always agree with her path, her directions, the way We move forward in life is because of her strength, her constant faith in good, her attention and Us just being sure of her. You gave her your whole heart and she took care of it for over 60 years with uncompromising love, compassion, patience and unselfishly giving you all this. Mom - You created your story of abundance and love. You shine brightly, providing the light for many. To say we will miss you does not even begin to describe all these feelings and tears; but Mom, it’s okay, it’s fine, we got it from here. (Love you lady)

Boldly faced and gingerly embraced every moment. With a brightness that never dimmed. An unwavering strength that lifted spirits. An attitude of a superhero. A gentle touch through words, laughter, play, time and friendship. She never sought to be recognized for greatness, but with Humble grace and beauty she created her story of abundance - Generosity and love. Her story is about her brightness that she gave so each of us can shine brighter. Her heart and her home are at the center of her story –
Somehow, she created both to be big enough for all of this, with all of this, for all of us. That was her joy. That was her greatness. 
Look at what she brought together - Family, children, friends, friends of family, family of friends In days of celebration, moments of sickness, and years of just dropping by. The door was always open, and she made enough room around the kitchen table and in her heart. Don’t you all just envision this as one big kitchen table and a chair is offered and pulled out for everyone.  There’s plenty of food, and stories, and plenty of laughs, and a mess, And a safe space, and sparklers, and chaos, and cakes, And the giving and the sharing and the food. Yanni! Thank you for everything you ever did for us!  Thank you for teaching me to cook, nick to burp, and most of all, thank you for teaching all of us the true meaning of family. 
I love you so much!  I will miss you everyday, but I know you will always be with me.

“Mommy” a woman who freely and happily gave her time, energy, and unconditional love to anyone who walked through the door or called on the phone. You shared yourself with so many and will be greatly missed. Thank you for all that you taught and gave me and my daughters. Your memory will live on in all of us. I will always cherish all the time I shared with my mother. A beautiful, witty and strong willed woman. I can only hope and pray that in my lifetime I will become a person that my mother can look at and know that she taught me well. It has been my pleasure caring for her. This has given me an opportunity to give back a portion of all the love she has shared with me. Just want to know how you are doing.

My grieving has begun so you'll probably see some tears. 
Life here on earth will never be the same. 
It will take some time to smile and deal with the pain.
I'm sorry that you were hurting but am relieved now that you're not. No-one deserves to suffer no matter what they've got.
You taught us to be strong, independent women who besides cooking and having children we know how to fix leaky toilets,  paint walls and install a ceiling fan.
Because of all these talents we probably don't need the help from any man. 
So now that you are an angel, please help guide us in what we do.
Know that as we look up towards the heavens and blow a kiss, that love is meant for you.

Best grandma my sisters and cousins could ever ask for. One amazing great grandmother too. Love and miss you so much Yanni. 

I first met Jackie 45 years ago as a teenager... spending many days and nights around her kitchen table, where there was a lot of food and conversation.  
No topic was off limits.  She listened but never judged.  She was a mother like no other, the type of mother I wanted to be, the "mom" I never had.   Welcoming to everyone and anyone.  Her home was a safe place for me during difficult times in my own home.  In 2012, she became my mother-in-law and one of the greatest blessings in my life.  It was a privilege to take a small part in her care during her final days.  She lives on through her 5 daughters (the strongest and most beautiful women I know and her son, my wonderful husband).  They and her grandchildren are her legacy as well as all the lives she touched.  I am truly grateful for her presence in my life.

Dear Serino Family,  Sending love and deepest sympathies to you all for the loss of your amazing Yanni/Jackie.  We all have many fond memories of Jackie throughout the years at family functions.  She will be missed by all who knew her especially her loving family.  Thoughts and prayers to you all.  The Stasch Family

Yanni wanted to be a part of everything, even if that meant sitting in a hot and humid water park on a less efficient portablr oxygen machine, just to hang out with her grandkids. She made it to every game, recital, graduation, concert, art show, grandparents day, birthday, birth, surgery and regular ole' day of the week if it meant family was there. And there was never a shortage of home-cooked food to go around. 

Dear Serino Family, I'm sorry for your great loss. I loved Jackie's smile and whit--she always made me smile.  I have so many great memories of her in the kitchen cooking something for the group that just dropped-in, unannounced,  and the many times we sat at the kitchen table,  chatting and laughing about some teenage/guard/corps drama.  Truly a very special lady. Grateful to have known her. Always a special place for her in my heart.

This is JoJo's favorite picture with you. Jo waves to heaven all the time now and talks to you. She will miss you tons and we couldn't have been more blessed to have a such a selfless great-grandma in her life to create some precious memories with these past few years. Jo will certainly never forget you and I look forward to every chance to fill in the gaps with all our own stories. Love you forever.
