Dear Dad,

We honor and remember you on this 4th year anniversary.   You taught us the importance of living in faith and self reliance.  I try to pass these onto your grandsons.  Jason is 28 years old and doing well managing retail operations and Ted is likely figuring out path forward.  Nolan is 21 and about to graduate this May from Colby College.  He will start full time work in Chicago.  Chicago is where you set roots as you embarked on your own journey in the 1960’s, where both Young and I got started, where Sal continued with graduate studies full of dreams in the 1980’s, and now Nolan will embark on his own journey 60 years later in Chicago!  

Dad, I pray God blesses Jason, Ted, and Nolan as they navigate the different seasons of life. May they thrive and work toward  their own aspirations with GRIT. 

This year, I especially pray for our country and the world for unity and peace.  There is so much chaos and suffering of innocent people.  I pray God grant wisdom, good will, and courage for our political leaders and empower average citizens to stand on principles.  

We send our love and prayers that you and mom are resting in peace ♥️🙏🏻.

Your deep love for God is etched in our own hearts.  Your legacy of faith and the fiery spirit shines through our family.  We are grateful that you were our earthly father and taught us so much about life.  We love you so much, dad.  We are comforted because we have no doubt you are in God’s loving arms resting in peace  ♥️🙏🏻.

ALTHOUGH DEATH STINGS, WE CAN REJOICE
It has been said that
What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us, but what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
Although death stings, we can rejoice that your father had a most abundant life and that his qualities live on in you.  
Of the Ten Commandments, the fifth one says:
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12, NIV).
Although death stings, we can rejoice for the unfailing love (e.g., listening, caring, patience, respect) you demonstrated to your father.
Although death stings, we can rejoice that your father is with the Lord, as the Bible says
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-29, NIV).

My heartfelt deepest condolences to you and the family! My heart is broken to hear the loss of your father, he was a remarkable man. He spoke so highly of his kids and he was so proud of all of you. After meeting all of you, I can see why, you guys are a true prodigy of his being.  I will miss the stroll we took to the Cook County building, the sweet smile, his genuine character, and the caring heart he had. I already miss him dearly!

May God bring you and the family the strength to move forward as his angel will look over all of you!
