James D. Harney

James Donald Harney of Des Plaines, born in Oak Park, IL on November 9th, 1938. Jim went to Schurz High School and North Park College, he was the owner of Aberdeen’s Florist, he specialized in wedding flowers and was the florist who supplied the tulips for Tiny Tim’s wedding on the Johnny Carson Show. He passed away on December 27th in Des Plaines surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen nee Ernst, beloved daughters, Shelly (Kevin) Fang, Anita (Frank) Davis and Amy (William) Warlick; dear grandchildren Ezekiel, Luke, Rachel, Jordan, Hannah, Liam, Jillion, Marie and the late Adam; fond sister-in-law Anita (Bob) Koch and nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday January 3, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Hwy. / Rt. 14 at Rand Rd. ) Des Plaines. Interment private, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. Friends and family will gather at Christ Church, 1492 Henry St. on Sunday January 10th at 2:00 pm for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service.
