Jenny leaves behind her parents Patricia (Michael) Mosconi and Anthony Pintozzi; siblings Julie (Stephen) Hansen and David Pintozzi; nephews Noah and Luke; Auntie Jan; cousins Stephanie and Alexis; and her adoring kitties Shady and Ellie. She is reunited with her uncle Jack, grandparents, dear friends, and beloved pets.
Jenny was born with Down syndrome, but she was far from disabled. Her outgoing personality, joyfulness, and amazing wit opened up countless opportunities wherever she went. Jenny was featured in newspapers, TV, training videos, and more. She was a decorated Special Olympian, carrying the torch in 1986, and winning innumerable medals in running and skiing over the span of 45 years. (Though unmarked, she could somehow tell them apart.) Amongst Jenny’s sports highlights was earning a gold in the 2016 International Special Olympics in Quebec for floor hockey and throwing the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game alongside Rick Sutcliffe: a selfless deed for a White Sox fan.
Jenny was fiercely independent and worked for several years at the Search Organization, Boston Market, and Home Depot, taking public transportation each way. She was employee of the month several times and proudly earned that title. Jenny worked as long as she was able until her retirement in 2021. In her spare time, she loved bowling, shopping, dining out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She was undoubtedly the life of every party.
In the end, Jenny’s greatest contribution in life was her capacity to love and connect with others. She was ALWAYS happy and had the remarkable gift of bringing people together and making them feel special. Her beautiful smile, endless affection, and hilarious quips will never leave us.
Jenny’s visitation and tribute will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. A graveside committal will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jennifer’s name to Special Olympics Illinois at specialolympics.org/programs/united-states/illinois.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oehlerfuneralhome.com for the Pintozzi family.
