Jinsup Kim

Respected Physician, Family Man, and Adventurer

Dr. Jinsup Kim, 78, passed away on October 19, 2024, surrounded by family. A devoted physician and beloved family man, his life was defined by dedication to his profession and his loved ones.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Kim attended Choongang High School and earned his undergraduate degree at Yonsei University. He later graduated from Severance Medical College, where he began his journey in medicine. After serving as a Medical Officer in the South Korean Army, he moved to the United States in 1976 to complete his residency and continue his career as a physician.

Over the years, Dr. Kim became known for his expertise in internal medicine, eventually serving as Chief of Internal Medicine. His dedication earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Top Doctor award, a testament to both his clinical skill and his compassionate patient care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kim enjoyed golf, fishing, and RV travel. He spent many cherished moments with family and friends on the golf course, by the water, and exploring the country.

Dr. Kim is survived by his wife, Seon Kim; daughters Jane Kim and Bomie Leonard; sons Tony Kim and his wife Miah Kim, and Henry Hong and his wife Diem Hong. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hailey and Hendrix Hong.

A celebration of life service for Jinsup will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Bridge Fellowship Church of Chicago, 41 S. Rohlwing Rd., Palatine, IL. A committal service will take place Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine, IL.
