Moo U. Lim

He was born in Andong, South Korea to Young Sup Lim and Kee Boon Koo as the oldest of four children. His mother passed away of illness when he was 16 years old, and he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated from Kyungbook High School in Taegu and Kyungbook Medical School in Taegu.

He met his wife, Sinja Suh, while singing together in their church choir at Taegu First Methodist Church. He then served his time in the army as an army physician and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. They married in 1971 in Taegu and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois, in 1972. He did his residency in Family Practice medicine and dedicated his career to helping heal others as a primary care physician. He practiced in the northern suburbs of Round Lake and Gurnee, Illinois until his retirement in 2012.

He enjoyed gardening, golfing, playing tennis and ping pong, singing, playing the violin and guitar, and loved to create small carpentry projects throughout the house. His most favorite past time was studying the Bible and reading books on Christian living. He was an active Elder within his church community and enjoyed leading Bible studies and sharing the love of Christ with others.

He is survived by his wife, Sinja and his three children: John (married to Semi), Sharon (married to Dan), and Tom (married to Esther) and seven grandchildren: Annabelle (16yrs), Hannah (15yrs), Lorelai (12yrs), Abigail (12yrs), Matthias (10yrs), Eleanora (9yrs), and Bennett (13 months).

A visitation for Moo Ung will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL, followed by a celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 PM. A farewell service will take place Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oehler Funeral Home, processing to Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Des Plaines for a graveside service beginning at 11:30 AM.

하나님의 사랑하는 아들 임무웅 장로님께서 2025년 1월28일 (화) 향년 82세로 하나님의 부르심을 받으셨습니다.

임무웅장로님은 안동에서 임영섭씨와 구기분씨 사이에서 네 남매 중 장남으로 태어났습니다. 그의 어머니는 그가 16세 때 병으로 세상을 떠나셨습니다. 그는 의사가 되기로 결심을 하고 대구 경북대학교 의과 대학을 졸업 했습니다.

그는 대구 제일 감리교회 성가대에서 아내 서신자권사를 만났습니다. 그후 군의관으로 복무했으며 베트남 전쟁 중에는 베트남에 주둔 했습니다.1971년 대구에서 결혼 하고 다음 해에 시카고로 이주 했습니다. 그는 평생 가정의학과 의사로 헌신 했고, 은퇴할 때까지 (2012년) 시카고 북부 지역 Round lake와 Gurnee에서 일을 했습니다.

그는 정원가꾸기,골프, 테니스,바이올린과기타등을 즐겼고,집 전체에 작은 목공 일 하는 것을 좋아했습니다. 가장 좋아 했던 시간은 성경을 공부하고 그리스도인의 삶에 관한책을 읽는 것이었습니다. 그는 교회공동체에서 활동적인 장로였으며 성경 공부를 인도 하고 다른 사람들과 그리스도의 사랑을 나누는 것을 즐거워 했습니다.
