Myong Kun Yi

Born on March 18, 1933, in Incheon, South Korea, Myong married Ae Ja Kim in 1962, beginning a loving partnership of more than six decades. In 1983, he and his family immigrated to Skokie, Illinois, where he built a life rooted in faith, perseverance, and devotion to those he loved.

A man of deep faith, Myong served the Lord for many years as both a Deacon and an Elder, offering steady leadership and a sincere heart for ministry. He was a devoted husband, a proud father of two sons, and deeply respected and admired by his family. An avid golfer for more than forty years, he achieved an extraordinary five holes in one, a testament to his skill and joyful persistence.

Myong is survived by his wife, Ae Ja Yi; his sons Hui Yi (Soo Kang) and Daniel Yi (Grace Chang); and his grandsons Christian, Jonathan, and Justin.

He will be remembered for his faith, his love for family, and a life lived with humility, purpose, and grace

A memorial service will be held on April 18th at 6:30 PM at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines, Illinois.
