Ray was born on June 14th, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to Dorothy Kozlowski (nee Wagner) and the late Raymond A. Kozlowski Sr. He is survived by his wife Karen of 54 years, his daughters Debra (Gregory) and Cheryl and his grandchildren Brady and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his brother Walter (Vicki) and leaves behind his other brother Steven (Annette) and sister Mary as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Ray served in the United States Navy and could talk about it for hours. After his service he began working at Illinois Bell and worked his way up thru the company and its many name changes. He retired in 2009.
He had a love for music (mostly classic rock). He was so into music that he even found a mistake at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on a family vacation. He was a big Chicago sports fan (except baseball – unless it was the Pittsburgh Pirates). He attended almost all of his grandkid’s activities from Morgan’s dance recitals and cheerleading performances to Brady’s baseball and basketball games.
Friends and family are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, March 25th, 2024 from 3 - 8pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois. A brief mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:30am. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ray’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
