He is preceded in death by his parents, the late George and Lillie (née Kersey) Benton; his wife, LaVerne (née Mahler) Benton; and his daughter, Cheryl Benton-Neff.
Redden is survived by his daughters, Caryn Smith and Cindie Wallace; his grandchildren, John Wallace, Chad Smith, and Anthony Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Gaby, and Caiden.
Born in Saint Marks, Florida on August 28th, 1927, Redden went on to serve as a Merchant Marine in the Navy. He later settled in Des Plaines, Illinois, where he enjoyed many years with his loving family. He will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will take place at Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge, Illinois, at a later date. Details to be announced.
