Usyak will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, where the service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. He met his wife, Pat, at a bowling league, and then moved to Des Plaines. Bob once owned an Amoco gas station in Carpentersville. He then worked in the uniform cleaning business, and retired from sales at the American Fastener Company. While in the Army, he was stationed in Germany. He loved gardening, auto racing, traveling, especially to state fairs. He was a "Seinfeld" fan, loved alpacas and discussing current news. He took care of Pat, and especially loved being with his granddaughters, Emily and Amanda, which made them very happy. Bob was always there for his family and he will be greatly missed. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (nee Patek); dear father of Bradley (Mary) and Wade Usyak; loving grandfather of Amanda and Emily; fond brother of Gene (Tina) and Diane Usyak; and a cherished uncle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Dr., Suite #206, North Hollywood, CA 91607.
