Russell Robert Harrop Jr.

Russell R. Harrop Jr, 90 formerly of Park Ridge Il. was born on June 16th 1932 in Chicago IL to the late Russell and Esther (nee Lindeberg) passed away peacefully on March 29th. Russell was the beloved husband of Carol K (nee Sheriff); loving father of Anne Williams (Bill) and Patrice Schumacher (Ralph). Cherished grandfather of Jenny Walter (Mark) Kathy Williams-Serocki (Jeremy) and Michael Schumacher (Jess). He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Esther, his wife Carol Harrop, daughter Patrice (Late Ralph) Schumacher and granddaughter Katherine Williams-Serocki.

Russell was a long time resident of Chicago and an avid Cubs fan. He graduated from Senn High School and went on to attend Northwestern University and later graduating from IIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Carol Sheriff on June 19th 1954 and were married for 53 years. He spent two years in the United States Army and returned to Chicago where he worked as a mechanical engineer with the Water Reclamation District until he retired at the age of 62.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 12:30pm - 1:30pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016 followed by a short service starting at 1:30pm.

Entombment will be private.

He will be deeply missed by friends and family revered as always there to lend a helping and not matter what the situation or need.
