

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Linda, Victor III, Mitchell Sr. (Sheryl) and Kurt (Stephanie); his 8 grandchildren; his 6 great grandchildren; his girlfriend, Carol Szymanski; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Arlene; his parents, Victor Sr. and Josephine; his sisters, Eleanor and Loretta; and his daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Victor III).
Vic retired as Sergeant of Police from the Chicago Police Department in 1992 after a nearly 40 year career. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy and remained an active member of several police and military organizations throughout his career and retirement. Vic coached football for the Edison Park Youth Association throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In his retirement, he spent many summers fishing with his family at his cabin in Montello, Wisconsin, and he was also an avid antiques collector. Cards were a favorite pastime, and he enjoyed many afternoons playing pinochle at the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines.
A visitation for Victor will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Juliana, 7201 N Oketo Ave, Chicago, IL 60631. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
