Wilberto Barrientos Arnobit Sr.

Wilberto “Bong” Barrientos Arnobit, Sr. of Asingan, Pangasin, Philippines went to be with the Lord on 3/4/2026 in Park Ridge, IL.

Wilberto “Bong” Arnobit, Sr. received his bachelor’s degree in medical technology with emphasis in pre-medicine at Far Eastern University, Manillia, PI. He later came to the United States and eventually made Des Plaines his home.

Wilberto “Bong” Arnobit, Sr. began his military service in the Philippines in the Navy as a hospital corps man specializing in the blood lab, eventually coming to the U.S. He then transferred to the Army and served there as a program analyst. He received many awards and commendations prior to his retirement, including an assignment at the Pentagon for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Always dedicated to the medical field, he continued his work in the blood lab during his military service and even until just last summer. He enjoyed time with his family, fishing, special songs and fellowship at church, and watching Chinese dramas.

Wilberto “Bong” Arnobit, Sr. is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Helen); his children, Elenita Pelt (Jeremy), Kayla Arnobit (Saad), and Wilberto Arnobit, Jr; his grandchildren, Jackson, Sarai, and Amais; his siblings, Armisticio Arnobit, Sr. (Corazon), Aurora Arnobit, Gloria Daorerk(Morakot) , Lydia Cisnero, Salvador Arnobit (Teresita), Caesar Arnobit, Mary Ann Arnobit-Madriaga (Rommel Madriaga), Maria Luisa Arnobit, Maria Caridad Arnobit-Haron (Abonawas), Ponciano Arnobit Jr.; and countless cousins, nephews, nieces, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Untold numbers of friends and coworkers who will also miss the blessing of his presence. He is preceded in death by his parents Ponciano Perez Arnobit and Rebecca Mauricio Barrientos; and his siblings Ismael Arnobit, Angel Arnobit, Luis Arnobit, Minerva Arnobit, and Abelardo Arnobit.

A visitation will be held at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL, on March 8, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a funeral service taking place from 3:00 to 4:00.
