William E. Hartley

William E. Hartley formerly of Des Plaines Visitation for William E. Hartley, 83, of Port Charlotte, Fla. since 1994, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/ Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. A prayer service will be on Monday, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Born April 2, 1928, in Chicago, he died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in Port Charlotte, Fla. William worked for many years at Chicago Litho Products and for Pittman in Chicago. He loved to golf. He was the husband of the late Wanda P. Hartley; father of William R. (Diane) Hartley, Ron (Laura) Hartley, Glen (Lynn Chu) Hartley and the late Patrick (Valerie) Hartley; grandfather of five: Tracy, Kelly and Sean Hartley, Colleen Booker and Emily (Matthew) Van Essen; great-grandfather of two: Jacob and Jordan Van Essen; brother of Edna Dietz, the late Marie and the late Jean; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society .
