Yeo Ok Kim

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yeo Ok Kim, who departed from this world on March 3, 2024. She fought bravely against cancer for six years before passing away peacefully in the company of her loved ones.

Born on March 2, 1958, Yeo Ok lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God, her family, friends, and community. Her selflessness and faith in God touched countless hearts and inspired those around her.

Yeo Ok was cherished for her warmth and wit. She had a remarkable ability to brighten any room she entered and lift the spirits of those around her. Her laughter was infectious, and her wisdom was sought by many.

Family was paramount to Yeo Ok, and she was a pillar of strength and support to her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Jea Young Chun, her daughter, Yeji Chun, and her sisters Chung Ja Kim, and Sook Ja Kim, who will forever treasure the love and wisdom she bestowed upon them. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us each day.

In her free time, Yeo Ok enjoyed traveling, singing, dancing, and most importantly, spreading the word of God. She found solace in singing the hymns and cherished the moments spent with her loved ones.

Yeo Ok’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those she touched.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL followed by a celebration of life service at 4:00PM
