

"JJ" John Waggoner, Jr., 79, a long time resident of Dexter passed away suddenly on April 16, 2012. He was proceeded in death by his parents Jay and Florence (Parker) Waggoner, brothers Bruce and Wayne. He is survived by former wife of 32 years Joyce and daughters, Debra DeGraff, Lynn (Greg) Rohkohl, Jill (Don) Fair, Susan (Chris) Rutkowski, nine grandchildren Adam Wagner, Duffy Fair, Michael (Jennifer) Ford, Jason (Channon) Fair, Josh (Erin) DeGraff, Kaylyn Rohkohl, Paul Fair, Caleb Rutkowski, Cody Rutkowski and two great grandchildren Austin Gibson and Roman Fair. Also survived by his sister Linda (Norm) Marquart and Katherine Waggoner and he was an uncle to several neices and nephews.
John inlisted in the Army Paratroopers in 1953. He was the Owner-Operator of Waggoner Trucking for over 20 years. After retiring and moving to the Houghton Lake area he worked various jobs. To thaw out during the cold winters he spent 3 weeks in Accopolo every year with his good friends. As an avid race car fan, he enjoyed attending nascar events, working on dirt track race cars and in his early years driving his own #1. He loved deer hunting, snowmobiling, camping, riding motorcycles and watching football. He was a wonderful father and friend. He will be greatly missed. He was a life time member and past commander of the American Legion Post #557. Visitation will be Thursday, April 19 from 4 to 7 pm and funeral service at 10:30 am April 20th at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
