Joseph “Josh” Gerard Konopka, age 62, of Pinckney, Michigan, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Chelsea, Michigan. He was born on January 31, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in West Bloomfield where he gained an affinity towards hockey and sports in general, an interest in being involved with the automotive industry, and an appreciation for music and musical instruments.
Josh met his late wife Heidi while working together at a gas station in Ann Arbor, he worked as a service advisor at several car dealerships and ended his career at the Costco tire center in Brighton, Michigan. He was a devoted Detroit sports fan, especially of the Red Wings and the Lions. He was an animal lover despite sometimes denying it. Towards the end of his life, his dog, Effie, became his number one priority, and was spoiled rotten by him.
On September 3, 1988, he married the love of his life, Heidi (Kremkus) Konopka and together they had two children Zac and Heather. Heidi preceded Josh in death in 2024, and since then Josh had struggled to find joy. Knowing that they are now back together brings the family some relief as he no longer has to suffer through living without her.
Josh is survived by his children, Zachary Konopka (Sabrina) and Heather Konopka, along with several cousins, and other extended family members.
Burial of Josh’s cremains beside his late wife, Heidi, will take place privately in the Spring/Summer of 2026 at Webster Church Cemetery, 5484 Webster Church Road,Webster, MI.
