Logan Ray Herring

Herring, Logan, Ray 2/19/1928 - 3/19/2016 Dexter, Michigan Ray, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 88 years of age. He was born in Peach Orchard, AK on February, 19, 1928 the son of Arlie and Elvira (Coffer) Herring. He met and married Mary Smith in 1949 and later moved to Michigan. Sadly Mary preceded him in death in 2004. Ray enjoyed hunting and hard work, working for as many years as he could before his retirement. He enjoyed his family especially his children and grandchildren as well as his extended family and many friends. He is survived by his daughters; Linda (Leo) LeRoy and Retha (Bruce) Hansen, son; Mike Herring, grandchildren; Lee (Katherine) LeRoy, Monica (Steve) Benton, Brett (Julie) Hansen, great grandchildren ; Conner, Paris, Kaylee, Riley, Sirena, Alayna, Levi and Logan, brother; Fred (Louise) Herring. He was also preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26 at the Calvary United Methodist Church (1415 Miller Ave., Ann Arbor). The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. He will be laid to rest at Washtenong Memorial Cemetery next to his beloved wife Mary.
