Born December 15, 1930, in St. Bernice, Indiana, she was the spirited only daughter of the late Wayne and Beulah Whitesell Ayres. Ruby attended St. Bernice High School in St. Bernice, Indiana, where she met her husband, Bill, at the age of fifteen. She was married in 1948, and in 1958 moved with her husband and children to Dexter, Michigan, where she lived the rest of her life. She worked for Liberty Title Company with her daughter Ilona for ten years before retiring and traveling extensively in Europe and Australia with her husband Bill. She especially loved their trips to Australia, where she played with koalas and snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef. Ruby will be laid to rest near her family home in Indiana.
Ruby is survived by her loving husband, William of Dexter, Michigan, her children, Ilona Samborn of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Greg Seaton of Plymouth, Michigan, and her three granddaughters, Alison Samborn Uher, Lindsey Seaton Cavendar, and Kara Seaton Rabouin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Association.
