Avery Alfred Mullen 75 of New Tusket passed away June 6, 2020. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Edmund and Josephine (Gavel) Mullen. An avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker and devoted Christian.
Avery loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and nieces. Teaching them how to hunt, fish, canoe or just to pick fun at. A contagious laugh and smile. Always ready to lend a hand or just a hug. He could always be found in the shop tinkering, whether it be a canoe, table, carving or making a bowl. When he wasn’t in the shop he could be found at the cabin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Linda; children, Timothy (Steph), Tamara (Don); daughter-in-law, Denise (Scott); grandchildren, Paul, Megan (Nate), Avery, CJ, Aleaha, Brooklynn; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Leland, Malachi, Paisley, Camden, Nylah; sisters, Lillian (Mel), Roberta, Nancy (Jim), Vera; brothers, Heman (Joylene), Richard; many nieces, nephews and many children that came and became family. Besides his parents Avery was predeceased by his brother’s, Harris, Fraser; sister-in-law, Sheila; brother-in-laws, Harold, Edgar, Nieces, Ambra and Geraldine; nephews, Gary, Brady, Nathan, Delany and Tyler.
Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2020 from the Church of Christ, Southville and from where a Celebration of Avery's life will be held 2pm Saturday, July 25, 2020 with Rev.Giles Mullen officiating. The family would like to thank the VON nurses, the palliative care team and the Doctors at the Kentville Hospital.
