Mr. Bernard William Haight

Bernard “Bernie” William Haight- Age 85 of Hillgrove, Digby Co. passed away September 29 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hillgrove on July 12 1931, he was the son of the late Sarah “Sadie” and Fred Haight. He was one of 15 children, his surviving sister Phyllis resides at Villa La Acadian. Bernie was a self-employed trucker, farmer and woodsman. He was raised and lived next door to the family farm in Hillgrove. He enjoyed farm life, music and dancing. He was blessed with a loving family and the best parents any son could have asked for. Bernie is survived by his wife, Loretta Haight of Hillgrove; sons, Danny L. Haight (Linda) of Hillgrove, Boyd Kevin Haight (Faye) of Airdrie, AB; grandchildren: Krista Haight-Sherry (Jeremy) of Calgary, AB , Gregg Haight (Debbie) of Hillgrove, Kelsey Haight of Airdrie, AB and Travis Haight of Lethbridge, AB; great-grandchildren: Connor Sherry, Colton Sherry, Glendon Haight and Nicholas Haight; several wonderful nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bernie was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Glendon, John, Tom, Ivan, Eugene, Stuart, (Floyd and Joseph) in infancy; sisters, Nell, Stella, Ruth and Daisy. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Monday, October 3rd, from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be 2pm, Tuesday October 4th from North Range United Baptist Church. Pastor Fred Bigelow presiding. Intermnet in Bloomfield Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or North Range United Baptist Church.
