Charles Edwin Miller

Miller, Charles Edwin “Ed” -80 Ashmore. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Ed passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 8, 1929, Granville Ferry, he was a son of the late Stephen (Bamford) Troop Miller and Doris May Gregory. He worked as a civil engineer in Canada, the United States, Kuwait and Africa. He loved being outdoors, whether it was four- wheeling, gardening, clamming or hunting. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, and an active member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his devoted wife of 59 years, Alvina (Dugas); his loving children, Roger (Deborah), Massachusetts , Wayne (Cynthia), Massachusetts, ; Allan (Sharon) ,Bridgewater; Debra, Lower Sackville; and Cynthia (David) , Wilmot ; his treasured grandchildren David Scott, Melissa Burch, Michael Miller, Wayne Miller Jr., Stephanie Miller, Lisa Stetson, Jason Miller, Stephen Miller, Alyssa Gillam, Carly Doucet, Kara Gillam, Jessica Stewart, Kelly Doucet, and great- grandchildren, Jason, Jack, Billy, Tommy, Jimmy, Riley, Isabella, Katherine and Faith, sisters Anita Hill, Gladys (Eugene) Chipman, Mary (Granville) Thompson, Emma Buchanan, Patricia (Russell) MacKintosh. He was predeceased by brothers, Stephen, John “Jack”, Warren “Bud”, and George, sisters Dorothy and Harriet. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525). Funeral service will be 1pm Monday from St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal. Canon Kenneth Vaughn assisted by Rev. Don Ruggles will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses, especially, Alan Pothier and Jolynn Walker of the Yarmouth Hospital for their compassionate care.
