Dorothy Louise Hall

Hall, Dorothy Louise - Age 91, from Roxville, Digby Neck passed away peacefully in Dartmouth, NS on November 13, 2016. Born in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Dorothy was the eldest daughter of Velven and Hazel (Taylor) Morton. She lived most of her life in Digby before moving to Dartmouth to be closer to her family. Dorothy enjoyed a diverse work life: short-order cook; clerk at a dry cleaners; laundry at Cornwallis; and as a care worker at the Children’s Training Centre in Digby. As a young woman she enjoyed playing guitar and singing; going to dances; and picking blueberries. In her later years she enjoyed having family around; travelling; and reading the newspaper. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Alton Hall; brother James (Bud) Morton; and sister Carole Boudreau. She is survived by her daughter, Marlane (Larry) Shortt; her sons, Nathan (Georgette) Hall; Kevin (Barb) Hall; and Stephen Hall. She is also survived by her sister Verna Goodwin; brother, Donald Morton; eight grand-children; and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Ocean View Continuing Care for the excellent care and love given to our Mother. Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 16, with a memorial service at 1:00 pm Thursday, Nov. 17, all at Jayne’s Funeral Home in Digby.
