

Hill, Edward Earl- 89 of Hilltown, Digby Co. passed away November 28, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Digby December 17, 1921, Edward was a son of the late Arthur and Maude (Cook) Hill. Edward was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Edward was a veteran of WWII, serving mainly in the Radar Detection Unit. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Weymouth. Edward was a former amateur boxer and an avid boxing fan his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. In his later years reading and telling stories were his favorite past times. He was employed with H. Tupper Warne’s as well as several other mills and logging camps. Edward was also employed with the Department of Transportation until his retirement. Edward was predeceased by brothers Ervin (Ted) and Clarence (Tot); sister Elda (Mullen). He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. No visitation by request. Funeral Service 1:00pm Friday, December 2, 2011 in Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North (245-2525) Pastor Peter Hayes presiding. Interment in Hilltown Cemetery. No flowers by request.
